Big South Fork named as an International Mountain Biking Destination.

Saturday, December 1st, 2012

The 125,000-acre Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area is a favorite among several groups of outdoors recreation enthusiasts — mountain bikers, whitewater paddlers, horseback riders and hikers.

The International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) meets annually at the World Summit to discuss and distribute awards to extraordinary rides around the world. This year IMBA awarded 5 trails in the Big South Fork River and Recreational Area as Epic Rides. Those five trails are Collier Ridge, West Bandy, Duncan Hollow, Grand Gap Loop and the portion of the John Muir Trail from Grand Gap Loop to Station Camp. IMBA takes into consideration the landscape, trail length and the overall experience when issuing their awards. Big South Fork is the first national park in the United States to be awarded with the Epic Ride title.  Don’t miss out on experiencing the beautiful landscapes and adventurous trails first hand, come visit us today!
